Pat Boone, the singing rage of the teenage set, has signed an exclusive contract with the Newport Shoe Manufacturing Corporation to promote the sale of white bucks which will be manufactured both here and in Lowell and which will be known as the Pat Boone white bucks. In the photo above, Pat is shown with Arthur Laganas, treasurer of the local concern, after the agreement was made in New York recently. Pat’s name will be used exclusively in connection with all types of shoes manufactured in both plants. He will wear the bucks in both his television and movie appearances and screen credits will be given to the shoe line, Royal Cadet. The idea was born when officials of the concern sent a gift of a pair of bucks to Pat several months ago.
